In 1990 a Golf Course was born…building a golf course for the Department of Correctional services was the dream of Lt-General Koos van Zyl of DCS. Thru many negotiations and with great determination he eventually received the go-ahead from Brigadeer N.J. Nel in 1989._x000D_

Lt-General van Zyl designed the course and a non-golfer Swannie Swanevelder became the actual builder of the course. On March the 23rd, 1990 Lt-General W.H. Willemse officially opened the golf course, and a beer mug was made to commemorate the event._x000D_
